Mr. Whalen has nine years of professional experience working on hazardous waste remediation projects. Serving as the project geologist, Mr. Whalen has a diverse skill-set including remedial investigations and implementation of remedial actions. Mr. Whalen has experience working on a large variety of site settings, including UST Cleanup Fund sites, refineries and fuel terminals, chlorinated solvent sites, Department of Defense facilities, and chemical manufacturing facilities.     Provided field oversight and coordination for the demolition of an abandoned gas station buildings and excavation and removal of underground storage tanks. Coordinated efforts with the local fire department, subcontractors, neighbors, laboratories, material haulers, and landfill disposal facilities. Implemented site assessment activities.

  • Chlorine Biocide Injection, Rancho Cordova, California

    Provided coordination, field oversight, and continuing operations support of a chlorine storage and chlorine injection project to control biological growth in groundwater extraction wells. Activities included well cleaning, facility construction, chemical injections, and monitoring residual concentrations of chlorine and adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
